Awqaf SA / Roshgold Young Business Achiever Awards (YBAA) 20/21 Virtual Launch

The climate for employment and especially youth employment is bleak. The formal sector and especially corporates are increasingly shedding more and more jobs. Where does that leave young people, young graduates and young job seekers?

About

The Young Business Achiever Awards (YBAA) aims to recognize, reward, and promote young business leaders in South Africa. This project has empowered over 300 young businesses over the past 3 years.

At our Roshgold Gala Awards in February 2020, Mr. Jack Karson from the Economic Acceleration Unit-Gauteng Premier Office had the following to say:
“You have our thanks for the work that you do in creating this platform for young entrepreneurs, for creating the kind of business networks in communities that create jobs and economic activity, that times one thousand, times one million is how we solve the South African (unemployment) problem”.

Moosa Bux of Pedros Flame Grilled Chicken was a worthy and popular winner in 2019. He is a role model for other entrepreneurs. His founding values of quality product, quality experience, and value for money has seen Pedros expanding nationally. Moosa confided; “The competition is big and we found it helped raise our brand profile. It was great to be associated with the competition.”

YBAA is open to any South African business or entrepreneur aged below thirty-seven years. Home-based, technology-based or bricks and mortar-based business models are welcome. The business can be a full-time pursuit or a moonlighting venture. All an incumbent applicant has to do, is complete an online application form, upload supporting documentation and illustrate how the business uses technology, marketing, social media, job creation and finance to make it profitable and growth orientated.

The competition closes on 12 February 2021.
