Waqf Conference at Islamic University in Madinah 1434

 The Islamic University intends to organize and hold the Fourth Conference of Endowments in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, under the title “A complementary strategy for the advancement of Islamic Endowment” as a result of choosing of Al-Madinnah Al-Munawara as the capital of Islamic culture In 1434 A.H corresponding with 2013. This title reveals aspects different from previous conferences, because the previous conferences aimed at theorizing the Islamic Endowment from its social, economic, investment, administrative, organizational, and civilization  aspects, but the Fourth conference aims at the following objectives:

 

Objectives of the Conference:

  1. To workout a practical plan for the future of the endowment institution, state its trends and develop and restructure a system of how it operates.
  2. To identify practical steps and clear mechanisms to guide the Endowment Foundation towards the desired level.
  3. To take care of the gaps in the current performance of the endowment, and to reach the best exemplary performance.
  4. To organize the efforts of the endowment, and the distribution of responsibilities for implementation.
  5. To develop the method of the investment  of the endowment outcome to achieve the best target results.
  6. To improve the level of performance in the institution of the endowment.

Topics of the Conference:

First topic: A Strategic development for the Islamic endowment in terms of organization and legislation:

  1. The evaluation of endowment’s trends in Muslim countries according to the Islamic criterion of legitimacy.
  2. The impact of modern technique on endowment which had taken it out of its legitimate course.
  3. Control systems to prevent the use of endowment outcome in financing terrorist acts.
  4. Obstacles to the advancement Of endowment under the adopted regulations of endowment in Muslim countries.
  5. Views of Muslim scholars on organizational principles that must be included in the endowment systems.
  6. Views of regulatory systems that must be included in the endowment regulation .
  7. Mechanisms for the development of a regulatory system of endowment.
  8. The impeding regulatory gaps to the target  role of endowment.

Second topic: A Strategic development for the Islamic endowment in terms of administration:

  1. Manifestations of poor performance of endowments managed by the government  and how to address them.
  2. The quality standards required in the institutional management of the endowment.
  3. The developmental visions of the management of endowments.
  4. The effective supervisory, administrative and accountability means of endowments institutions .
  5. To strengthen the supervisory control of the rulings of the Department of endowments and its impact in promoting them.
  6. The views of the Islamic scholars in addressing the problems of managing the endowment institution.
  7. Ways of improving the level of performance in the administration of the endowment and mechanisms for the advancement of the endowment.
  8. Administration of the endowment during the time of the Prophet (may peace and blessing of Allah be upon Him) and during the time of the caliphs as a model for a well informed administration.
  9. Proposed views for developing female administration of the endowment.

Third topic: A Strategic development for the Islamic endowment in terms of investment:

  1. The investment of endowment between objects, assets and outcome  investments.
  2. The most profitable investment formulas of the assets of the endowment.
  3. Investing the outcome of the endowment in employing the money (capital) and real estate investment.
  4. The vital areas of endowment investments.
  5. The legitimate role of the committees managing the endowment investments.
  6. The role of the universities in developing the endowment.
  7. Aims and vision of the endowment in the area of water mechanisms to promote endowment investment in water.
  8. Water endowment between the historical necessity and contemporary needs.
  9. The Spring of Aziziyyah endowments in its past and present.
  10. The Spring of Alzrqaa endowments in its past and present.
  11. Sacrificing the Spring of Aziziyyah and its importance in providing water for the pilgrims.
  12. The institutional  administrative for investment  Aziziyyah spring example.
  13. Providing water for the guests of Makkah and Madinah mosques  between the spring of Aziziyyah and the spring of Zubaida and the spring of Alzrqaa.

Fourth topic: Sensitization of the endowments and promoting its awareness in the community:

  1. The negative mental image of endowment in Islamic societies (manifestations, causes, and treatment).
  2. legal and social implications that affect the public about the endowment which should be used to change its negative mental image in the society.
  3. A strategic way of changing the negative stereotypes of endowments through the media, such as: audio and video, as well as the curriculum in schools and universities (Sharia curricula – Islamic culture – extra-curricular activities … etc.), and the mosques (Friday sermons – Lectures – Seminars ) and through (successful experimental endowment).

Terms and conditions to present researches:

  • The research must discuss one of the topic of the conference.
  • Each research must fulfill the necessary academic standards.
  • Researches submitted should not have been published or presented in previous conferences.
  • The number of pages should not exceed 30 pages (A4) including indices, references and attachments.
  • Researches should be sent in a file by normal mail or through an e-mail,attachment and  should be written in Microsoft Word Arabic texts must be in the program {Traditional Arabic} size “16” whereas English texts should be  written in {Times New Roman} “14”. Up down margins 2.5 cm from the right 2.5 cm and from the left side of the page2cm.
  • Research abstracts should be sent before 15/03/1433 A.H. corresponding 07/02/2012 A.D. Each abstract must not be less than 200 words and not more than 400 words.
  • Researches must be sent before 01/07/1433 A.H. corresponding 22/05/2012 A.D.
  • Participants will immediately be informed that their researches have been received.
  • The academic committee has the right to correct some terms and information if necessary.
  • Researchers shall be evaluated by a committee of arbitrators.
  • Each participant must send a compressed file containing a summary of his resume ( one page ),participants information form,a copy of the passport and a summary of the research.
  • Accepted researches with the cvs  shall be published without any fees.
  • Invitations will be sent to all researchers whose researches are accepted. The Islamic university will take care of air tickets, accommodation and food.
