On behalf of Shaykh Muhammad Al Ninowy, and Madina Institute South Africa, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the AWQAF SA team.
Last year, 2019, AWQAF assisted one of our students by sponsoring her accommodation.
Fatchul Hidayah came to South Africa from Indonesia to do the Usul Ud din One year Intensive. She returned home in December 2019, and immediately began working in her community, running a holiday program for children. She had aimed to accommodate 30 children, and ended up with 150!
This dawah and community work would not have been possible without the support and contribution of AWQAF.
May Allah ta’ala accept, and may this be a Sadaqah Jaariya for all involved.

The inaugural AMS – Gauteng 2017 Matric Awards took place on Sunday, 11 February 2018, at the Lenasia Secondary School, Penquin Street, Ext 1, Lenasia.
The event was a success without the support of partners like yourself this would not have been so. Your generous donation to cover the cost of certain items (trophies and certificates to the awardees) and certificates awarded with a small investment with Awqafsa was well recognised and received.
I am sure in the near future our relations are going to be strengthened.
Please remember us all in your prayers.
Asalaam alaikum brothers.
This is to tend our thanks to you for inviting us for the 5th Southern Africa Awqaf Training which took place in Durban South Africa.
The training equipped us with knowledge and practical skills of initiating, running and developing akah and Awqaf programmes.
We shall continue to learn from you as we embarrassed on our journey of developing this new area of Islamic finance and development initiatives.
Once again thank you so much.
Assalam WA Alaikum.
Taking a walk with my mum at the Sirius Radio fête on the 30th September 2017, and just like many other people, visiting the stalls,we stopped at the Awqaf stall and still remember how patiently my brother and I waited for mum while she chatted away to uncle Farooq .
It was here that we bought the 2018 SHAMSAAN PALESTINE’S children art calendar.
Alhamdudillah reading all their stories and their pictures depicting their words of their struggle in Palestine, I was inspired by all these artists to do a painting on Palestine. Mum contacted the organisers of the PSA branch in Benoni and asked if I could paint and auction my painting.
Alhamdudillah I enjoyed every moment painting knowing this was going to go the the children of Palestine, who were no different than I but their story was one of struggle, pain and hardship which made them forget their childhood and turn them into soldiers and fighters for the liberation struggle of PALESTINE!!!
My painting took me 9 hours and was auctioned at the annual PSA walk for freedom on the 30th October 2017.
I was anxious. I was stressed. What will my first time drawing fetch at an auction? Will it bring even R500?
Alhamdudillah I cannot believe as I write with tears in my eyes, it sold for R5 500. The proceeds were donated to the Palestinian cause for peace, equality, and justice.
My message to all the children of PALESTINE is I cannot be with you but you are in our hearts and prayers. This is just a small token of our solidarity from the children of South Africa .
Jazakallah.❤

Ihata Shelter for Abused Women receives a well point
We’re so humbled by the incredible generosity of Awqaf SA. Thank you for choosing IHATA Shelter for Abused Women and Children as a beneficiary for a borehole in this blessed month of Ramadaan. We were hit really hard by the water shortages in the Western Cape – it affected not just our garden, putting a stop to growing beautiful organic vegetables
