Awqaf SA conducted a Quraan distribution across South Africa during the month of September. Transliteration and colour coded Quraans were distributed at Masjids and community centres across Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
This a brief overview of some of the distribution points.
Quraans were distributed to the Musalees at Himayatul Islam Masjid in the Johannesburg CBD. The masjid is under resourced and the musallees were appreciative of receiving the Quraans as they are from impoverished backgrounds.
Qurans was made available for free at the Plein Street Masjid in the Johannesburg CBD.
The Open Mosque Program provided an excellent platform to offer Dawah to non-muslims at the Sandton Masjid. Quraans and Islamic literature.
