A society can be judged by how they treat their youth and their elderly. With this in mind, the current South African situation is seeing a notable increase in the number of orphaned, abandoned, destitute, and abused children.
It is envisaged that the Orphans Waqf will add value to this broader definition of needy children, the value add will be in various forms including infrastructure upgrading, facilitated fulfillment of needs/requirements as well as capacity building interventions, and educational development and support
The growing demand for resources for orphanages as a direct result of an increase in the cases of abuse, abandonment, or destitution creates an unprecedented need for support of the institutions that raise our orphans, destitute, and abused children.
