Judge Raymond and Suleman Bux Reunion

Suleman Bux, now residing in Port Shepstone, recalls the very day he helped a young man and his family during tough times in the 1970s. WAY back in 1977, little did Ixopo supermarket owner Suleman Bux realise that a desperate young student he helped would eventually go on to become the second most powerful legal personality in the country. Children of Islam Fasting Certificate

Give a Fasting Child a Certificate! Awqaf SA has developed a programme for young children under the banner of “Children of Islam.” As part of this programme various Children’s’ activities are run in-conjunction with other organizations to celebrate our youth and inculcate within them the values of Islam under the theme “Love, Learn & Live Islam”. One of these projects, “The Fasting Children of Islam Certificates” is geared towards rewarding and encouraging young Muslim children who have completed the full or part fast during the month of Ramadaan. Mickaeel Collier, Deputy CEO of Awqaf SA says that “the Certificates are a recognition of our children’s commitment and dedication to Ramadaan and the consciousness and eagerness that display in fulfilling this act of worship. Through these types of programmes, we pray that our children will become flagbearers and leaders of society in the future, Insha’Allah.  We have designed two certificates:  1.            for kids that have fasted the entire month and 2.            for those who could only manage to fast a few days of the month.  In a hadith the Prophet (SAW) said: “There are seven categories of people who are under the shade of Allah on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade…” one of these categories is “…a youth who has been raised in the worship of Allah.”  As parents the greatest gift that we can give to our children is to instil within them the love for Islam. These certificates are therefore a recognition of their ...
