Testimony from a Muslimah Today Delegate: Shameema Omar
“Honoured that the Muslimah Today conference open to all faiths by organizer Fatima Asmal and her behind the scenes dynamic team Azra Hassim had Durban’s wisest heroine and her concluding words as a lesson and reflection, in a month where a public holiday is dedicated to South African women. “I am human. Still on a learning curve.” It is women like these that inspire and continue to uplift communities. Truly a gem and asset to Durban, Mrs Mayet.
By far the biggest turnout, it was Moulana Musa Mkhize, the son of Mama Zuleikah Mkhize who at the age of 70 had addressed a women’s conference for the first time, then concluded the conference with a few words of advice and a prayer.”
