K Way Maths Institute / Awqaf SA Maths Intervention Ladysmith

K Way Maths Institute and Awqaf SA conducted a Maths Intervention for 500 learners at the Ezhakeni Community Hall, Ladysmith, KZN from the 22 – 23 August 2017.

This was a much needed intervention as learners were producing less than 30% in their Mathematics examinations. The aim of this exercise was to train 500 learners from previously disadvantaged areas in Mathematics in preparation for the 2017 Preliminary Examinations.

The learners were transported by their respective schools to the Ezhakeni Community Hall which was a central point. All arrangements for venue and seating were arranged effectively by Mr Sujaad and Mrs Zohra from the Awqaf SA Ladysmith branch.

Mohammed Khota from the K Way Maths Institute added that “It was a humbling experience to meet learners and educators from the Ezakheni District in KZN.
Educators and learners face major challenges in Mathematics in terms of content and understanding.”

Awqaf SA will continue to assist and uplift these poorly performing areas and be of  a greater assistance on a national level.
