The Awqaf SA / “Children of Islam” Holiday Day Camp is designed to provide young Muslim Boys and Girls in Johannesburg with an opportunity to learn about their faith, make new friends and explore new hobbies in an environment that allows for both fun and learning. We hope that the day camp will be a transformative experience for these young learners and will Insha Allah instill love for Allah (s.w.t) and His Prophet (s.a.w)
The programme consists of a tarbiyyah (self-development), archery, calligraphy, hiking, and conversational Arabic – all with an underlying Islamic ethos. The 4-day programme is fully supervised by our facilitators.
The camp caters to two parallel age groups: 8-11 years and 12-15 years, with each programme tailored to suit the participants.
Learners are encouraged to dress modestly, be punctual and leave valuable items at home.

Monday to Wednesday (1 – 3 October, 2018) / 8:30am-1:30pm daily
Venue: Emmarentia Primary School (Umgeni & Hill Rds, Emmarentia)
Drop off and Pick Up: at the main gate on Umgeni Rd, Emmarentia Primary School
Thursday, (4 October 2018) (GUIDED HIKE )/ 8h3oam – 13h00pm
Venue: Melville Koppies Nature Reserve
Drop off and Pick Up at Marks Park Sports Club, Judith Road, Emmarentia.
Participants must wear proper walking shoes, hats, sun block and carry water, a light snack, (personal prescribed medication e.g. asthma)
Lunch Pack: All participants are to bring a snack or lunch pack on all four days
Light snacks and/or juice will be served during mid-morning breaks.
Registration fees:
First Sibling: R600 Second Sibling: R500 Third Sibling: R450
– Includes all art materials, hike fee, archery fee, refreshments, notes, T-shirt for Hike, and a goodie bag

Indemnity Forms: All Parents/Guardians should complete Indemnity Forms for each child/ward. Two forms need to be completed. One for Awqaf SA and one for Melville Koppies. Click here to download the Indemnity Forms.
