Awqaf SA, a charitable endowment organisation committed to promoting community development and social cohesion, is delighted to announce its collaboration with Primrose Rugby Club and the Imam Haron Foundation in presenting the Awqaf SA Imam Haron Commemorative Youth Rugby Tournament.

The tournament pays tribute to Imam Haron, a remarkable figure in history who not only dedicated his life to advocating social justice but also made significant contributions to non-racial sports.

Imam Haron’s legacy transcends generations, and this commemorative rugby tournament is a testament to his enduring impact. The event’s ethos is rooted in the promotion of social cohesion, with the aim of providing young players with a deep appreciation of rugby’s heritage and instilling in them the core values of social justice through the medium of sport.

This four-day rugby festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike. Through friendly competition, the tournament seeks to foster unity, respect, and collaboration among youth from diverse backgrounds. By celebrating the life and values of Imam Haron, it serves as a platform to inspire the next generation of leaders committed to social justice.

Awqaf SA, Primrose Rugby Club, and the Imam Haron Foundation invite the community to come together, support our young athletes, and honour the legacy of Imam Haron. We anticipate an exhilarating tournament that will leave a lasting impact on the lives of those involved.

The event took place from September 9-10, 2023, for primary schools and September 24-25, 2023, for high schools at the Primrose Sports Field, Loch Road, Kenilworth.
